DIRECTIONS:
Pre-Wash Rinse: Thoroughly rinse as much mud and dirt as possible from all surfaces before washing.
Apply Rugged Restore All Surface Cleaner or Cleaner & Degreaser to caked on or very dirty area (use as directed).
The Two-Bucket Wash Method
If you wipe away dirt and then put your wash pad straight back in your soap bucket, you’re contaminating the soapy water with dirt, which will hugely reduce the effect of the cleaning solution. The two-bucket wash method ensures that you avoid this and get the cleanest possible finish.
Ensure that you have separate buckets for water and the Rugged Restore Easy Wash & Wax solution, so that you can rinse your wash mitt in the water before you put it back in the solution – you’ll see the whole process detailed below.
Our Grit Guard 5 Gallon Wash Systems are perfect to set up your wash regimen.
Water Bucket Method
Step 1: Fill a bucket with 3-4 cap fulls (1oz) of Easy Wash & Wax for every 2 gallons of water – this distribution ensures that the maximum amount of suds will be created. Use the Grit Guard Insert in your bucket before starting the cleaning process, so that all excess dirt is trapped at the bottom of the bucket and isn’t reintroduced in to the wash solution.
Step 2: Fill a separate bucket with only water and Grit Guard Insert. Now, get a separate bucket with another grit guard and fill this just with water. It’s essential that you use the two-bucket wash method to get the cleanest possible result with no risk of scratching.
Step 3: Agitate the bucket with the soap using a Rugged Ridge Chenille Wash Mitt to create super suds. It’s the suds that will carry all the dirt away, so don’t worry about too many suds – they are doing the work!
Step 4: Using a soft brush or Rugged Ridge Chenille Wash Mitt, clean wheels & tires, suspension, and *engine first. Use the wash mitt to wash the car from top to bottom. Wash in horizontal lines from top to bottom for even cleaning. Let Easy Wash & Wax do the work, no need to scrub hard. The wash solution will remove the dirt from your paint without possible damage.
Step 5: Each time you need to add more soap to your wash pad, first rinse it in the water bucket, so that there is no contamination of the soap bucket. Rub it directly against the Grit Guard Insert at the bottom of the bucket to ensure that you completely remove any excess dirt or grit from the wash pad before putting it back in the soap bucket.
Step 6: Once you have finished cleaning and rinsing, give your vehicle one more rinse and then use one of our Rugged Restore Drying Towels to completely dry the vehicle.
Tips:
In direct sun, wash & rinse in sections, keep all surfaces wet as you work.
Use Rugged Restore Glass Cleaner to finish the glass surfaces, and Shine & Protect to create shine and add a layer of protection.
For vinyl or fabric tops, use our SOFTTOPP kit to clean, restore, and protect your top.
*Cover or avoid all sensitive electronics when washing and rinsing.
Foam Cannon Method
Step 1: The foam cannon method is so effective because it maximizes the amount of suds that come in to direct contact with your vehicle and completely eliminates the possibility of any scratching or swirl stains caused by human error. As with the bucket method, fill the foam cannon with 3-4 capfuls (1oz) of Rugged Restore Easy Wash & Wax, and the remainder with water.
Step 2: Shake the cannon well so that you agitate the Rugged Restore Easy Wash & Wax inside the cannon.
Step 3: Starting from the top and working towards the bottom, cover the entire car with a thick lather of suds.
Step 4: Using a soft brush or Rugged Ridge Chenille Wash Mitt, clean wheels & tires, suspension, and *engine first using the suds created by the foam cannon.
Step 5: Thoroughly clean and rinse your Wash Mitt used in Step 4 (or use a second one). Work from top to bottom to wash the rest of the vehicle using the suds created by the foam cannon. In direct sun, wash & rinse in sections to prevent water spots.
Step 6: Once you have finished cleaning and rinsing, give your vehicle one more rinse and then use one of our Rugged Restore Drying Towels to completely dry the vehicle.
